What to expect
Prices on wedding dresses and formal dresses vary depending on complexity. You can call, text orschedule an appointment online for an in-person consultation. Consultations may take up to 30 minutes. At the end of the appointment I will give you the exact price quote.
I take dresses, for minor alterations, at least 2 months in advance of your event. This is so I have more time with you to make any adjustments to your dress. For custom additions into your dress like custom sleeves, reconstruct bodice or for complete dress redesigns, I'll need the dress at least 3 months in advance.
If you are pregnant or losing weight (more than 20 lbs.), I'll need the dress 2to3 weeks before your event- so any final adjustments to your dress will be accurate. I'll take other emergency orders (3 weeks or less notice) for an additionalRush Fee (see Rush Fee policy).
After the consultation is the first fitting. This could happen on the same day as the consultation or be scheduled for another time.
What to bring to your fitting appointments:
dress
shoes
veil (if you have one)
sash or belt (if you have one)
pre-made sleeves
any body shapers (corset bra, spanx, spandex, etc.-if desired)
The first fitting may last up to an hour for wedding dresses and up to half an hour for formal dresses. I'll do all the pinning on your dress, considering your dress style and body shape, add sleeves, sash (belt) and we'll discuss what else needs to be altered. Payment is due at that time to begin the alterations.
If the dress requires many and/or significant alterations (especially custom redesigns) second and third fitting appointments may be required. Subsequent fitting appointments will be necessary to ensure proper alteration, design, and fit of custom and/or complex aspects.
Once the alterations are complete we'll schedule an appointment to try on the dress. Your dress and veil are going to be steamed and pressed. On the last fitting you can try the dress on and see how you're going to look for your perfect moment. If you're happy with the fit at that point you'll take the dress.
Please try to maintain your weight during this process. The fitting and alteration has been done to fit the dress to you. If after the fitting process, you gain or lose weight and the dress doesn't fit or you decide you want new changes, those changes will incur additional charges to further alter the dress. New charges will be based on the amount of new alterations required.
